01 / THE CONTEXT

Learning through
different kinds of play.

I founded Pew Pew Studios and led a four-person team to create three educational games with Green Ninja. Each approached environmental learning through a different kind of play, from defending Earth to navigating rooftops and exploring household energy.

I worked with educators, artists, and developers from early requirements through design, development, testing, and classroom launch.

02 / MY CONTRIBUTION

A small team.
A complete production.

  • Lead game design, production planning, budgets, and release.
  • Coordinate artists and developers while staying connected to the educational goals.
  • Gather educator feedback and manage testing, reviews, and revisions.
  • Contribute game development and animation across the portfolio.

03 / EDUCATIONAL GAME

CarbonCraft

Power up Green Ninja while exploring how much energy is used at home and where that energy comes from. The focus shifts from everyday consumption to the sources behind it.

03 / OUTCOMES

From a small studio
to a wider classroom.

We delivered three games in 18 months, and the studio was acquired by Green Ninja Science.

Carbon Runner was one of four finalists in the 2016 Games for Change Climate Challenge, selected from more than 50 prototypes.
